Nissan Navara NP300, Pick up the benefits are similar to those increasingly comfortable SUV. The new Navara reached another milestone: it leaves the blade in favor of multi-link suspensions. A first in models with a load capacity of one ton!

A craft original site or farm The pick-up has now become highly civilized ?? as ?? a true recreational vehicle. Americans are not mistaken: for 33 years the Ford F150 is the best-selling vehicle in the US across all models. Followed in second position by the Chevrolet Silverado, the other segment of the giant.

In France, it is another story, although the market is expanding: with 12,000 units in 2014, sales have increased by 40% in five years. Six models are the market. But only two models stand out: the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux monopolize the 1st places in between them represent over 50% of sales. Both will be revisited in 2016 (for restyled Hilux launch of the Ranger and 8) to face a particularly dangerous outsider: the next generation of Nissan Navara called NP300 and newly elected Pick-up of 2016.

In France, Nissan now offers not only the most “civilized” versions. The model “Double Cab” with 4 doors and 5 seats alone accounts for three quarters of sales. Given the previous generation, it lies 11 cm. In almost exclusive benefit of the now long dump of 1.58 m. The loading capacity increases to a ton. More civilized!

Difficult to differentiate a modern face Pick up an SUV. This is especially true for the new Navara gaining in sophistication with its beautiful grille and daytime running lights. Nevertheless, it is still impressive with its high ground clearance, essential to carry out the crossing capabilities that make the whole point of a pick-up. On board as the last pick-up no longer have much to envy SUVs.

In this case, the dashboard of Navara just seems modeled on that of the X-Trail. The finishes are obviously not as neat: forget the pretty banner highlighting the dashboard. As well as leather or foamed plastics, as pleasing to the touch than the eye. Here the materials are designed to last, to resist scratching. But welcome to the large touch screen, the leather upholstery and of driving aids equipment: adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, or a camera system with 360 degree views, convenient to park the mastodon 5.33 m.

Multilink suspensions rather than blades

But the biggest highlight of the Navara against other segment models is its new multi-link rear suspension. Exclusive to the version 4 doors. And unprecedented in Pick up with a loading capacity of one tonne. It was one of the requests of the customer Pick up: the adoption of more comfortable suspensions. Specifically, we are not witnessing a revolution in terms of comfort.

The suspension is firm, in order to take the load capacity of one ton of the dumpster. And the rear axle remains rigid. But the improvement is still quite blatantly against other Pick-up category, all equipped with leaf suspensions. This is seen especially on expressways, where the unpleasant vibrations of the rear axle are ancient history. Traveling to the rear seats is finally over torture! Finally, only the behavior a little disappointing: the lateral body movements are much higher than on a Ford Ranger for example. Too bad driving precision thus tarnished. We have seen that the exploring capabilities remain about it at a good level.

On our 4-wheel drive versions, Nissan has yet deleted the center differential in favor of an electronic interlocking. The Navara becomes more fuel efficient: the excellent four-cylinder 2.3-liter twin-turbo 190 hp Renault wins sobriety origin: -24%, the average approved conso is set to 7 l / 100 km and releases of fall to 183 g CO2 / km with BVA7.

Professionals (including use of the pick-up is justifiable) for their benefit from an exemption from TVS and a refundable VAT. It is therefore understood that Pick up attracting more and more. Especially as Nissan now offers a warranty of 5 years or 160,000 kilometers, the best in the segment. The Navara starts at 26,260 euros in King Cab and Double Cab 32,460 in 160 hp. Balance sheet

For 600 euros TTC about more than the previous generation we take advantage of the new suspension, increased traction capabilities, as well as new equipment. So a good deal. In any case, difficult to find the same rates of such services on an equivalent SUV.
