Honda at the Detroit Motor Show, scheduled from January 14th to 29th 2018, will present a world premiere of the Insight Prototype : concept of 5-door luxury sedan that will prefigure the series model that will be on the market starting from 2019 and will position itself in the hierarchical staircase, above the Civic.

Introduced for the first time in 1999, Insight was Honda’s first hybrid vehicle to use the Integrated Motor Assist(IMA) hybrid system , as well as technology with optimized aerodynamics and a lightweight aluminum structure. The second generation, which made its debut in 2009, offered more space and utility while continuing to use the IMA hybrid system.

“With its sophisticated styling, dynamic position, ample interior space and top performance, the all-new Insight embodies Honda’s approach to creating electrified vehicles without the typical compromises,” said Henio Arcangeli Jr. , Director General of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

The brand new Insight, with style and premium features evolved, will use the latest generation of the innovative hybrid system of Honda and will be launched next summer as the new electrified vehicle of the Honda range. Production will take place at the Greensburg plant in Indiana, in the structure where Civic and CR-V are born.
